The guest of the forum was Dr. Ed Buckner, executive director
of the Council for Secular Humanism. Dr. Buckner speaks frequently on issues
of church and state, arguing that the founding fathers never intended for
America to be a Christian nation. He and John Rankin held a prior Mars Hill
Forum in November 2001 at the University of Buffalo on the topic: "Holy
War and Terrorism: A Biblical view: A Secular View."
