Although one cannot be certain,
we may expect that any proposal in Connecticut for same-sex
marriage legislation will be presented simply, so that many
of the thorny issues discussed in this pamphlet - divorce, adoption,
foster care, educational curriculums, etc. - will be addressed
only in later sessions of the Connecticut General Assembly.
Advocates - who are patient - may also settle for less dramatic
changes in the law each year, as legal distinctions between
same-sex relationships and marriage erode and resistance dissolves.
